The Messenger of Allah ﷺ, during the illness in which he died, said, "Tell Abu Bakr to lead the people in prayer."Ayesha said, "Abu Bakr is a tender-hearted man. Whenever he stands in your place, he is overcome by tears."The Prophet ﷺ replied, "You are like the women who tried to influence Yusuf. Tell Abu Bakr to lead the people in prayer."So Abu Bakr led the prayer, and the Prophet ﷺ prayed behind him while seated.
