Ayesha reported,

A man asked the Messenger of Allah ﷺ while he was standing at the door, and I was listening. The man said, "I find myself in a state of major ritual impurity at dawn while wishing to fast."The Prophet ﷺ replied, "I too find myself in a state of major ritual impurity at dawn while wishing to fast."The man said, "I am not like you. Allah has forgiven you your past and future sins."The Prophet ﷺ became angry and said, "I hope to be the most fearful of the Lord among you and the most knowledgeable of you regarding what I should guard against."

حدثنا أبو نوح أخبرنا مالك بن أنس عن عبد الله بن عبد الرحمن بن معمر عن أبي يونس

عن عائشة قالت

سأل رجل رسول الله ﷺ وهو قائم على الباب وأنا أسمع قال أصبح جنبا وأنا أريد الصوم قال النبي ﷺ إني أصبح جنبا وأنا أريد الصوم قال الرجل إني لست كمثلك أنت غفر الله لك ما تقدم من ذنبك وما تأخر فغضب النبي ﷺ فقال إني أرجو أن أكون أخشاكم للرب عز وجل وأعلمكم بما أتقي
