Ayesha reported,

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to pray, between finishing the evening prayer and dawn, eleven units of prayer. He would give the closing salutation after every two units and conclude with a single unit as witr. He would remain in prostration long enough for one of you to recite fifty verses before raising his head. Once the muezzin fell silent after the first call to dawn prayer, he would rise and pray two brief units, then lie down on his right side until the muezzin came to him, and he would go out with him.

حدثنا يزيد قال أخبرنا ابن أبي ذئب عن الزهري عن عروة

عن عائشة قالت

كان رسول الله ﷺ يصلي ما بين أن يفرغ من صلاة العشاء إلى الفجر إحدى عشرة ركعة يسلم في كل ثنتين ويوتر بواحدة ويسجد في سجدته بقدر ما يقرأ أحدكم خمسين آية قبل أن يرفع رأسه فإذا سكت المؤذن من الأذان الأول قام فركع ركعتين خفيفتين ثم اضطجع على شقه الأيمن حتى يأتيه المؤذن فيخرج معه
