Some jewelry arrived for the Prophet ﷺ from the Negus, sent to him as a gift. Among it was a gold ring set with an Abyssinian stone. The Prophet ﷺ picked it up with a stick, or with the tips of his fingers, turning his face away from it. Then he called for Umama, daughter of Abu al-As, his granddaughter, and said, "Adorn yourself with this, my dear."

قدمت على النبي ﷺ حلية من عند النجاشي أهداها له فيها خاتم من ذهب فيه فص حبشي فأخذه النبي ﷺ بعود ببعض أصابعه معرضا عنه ثم دعا أمامة بنت أبي العاص ابنة ابنته فقال تحلي بهذا يا بنية
