The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Whoever washes a deceased person, fulfilling the trust faithfully and not disclosing what he sees of him at that time, emerges from his sins as on the day his mother bore him."He said, "Let the one closest to him take charge of washing him, if he knows how. If he does not know, then whoever you consider to possess a measure of piety and trustworthiness."
Its chain of transmission is daif because of Jabir bin Yazid Jufi. The hadith was narrated by Tabarani in Al-Kabir 8/337, no. 8078, and Haythami declared it daif in 3/23, as did Munziri in 4/339, both for the same reason. It is also found in Abu Naeem's Hilyah 6/192, where he cited corroborating narrations for it.
