The Messenger of Allah ﷺ became upset with Safiya bint Huyayy over something, so Safiya said, "Ayesha, please reconcile the Messenger of Allah ﷺ with me, and you may have my day with him."Ayesha agreed. She took a head covering of hers dyed with saffron and sprinkled it with water so its fragrance would spread, then she sat down beside the Messenger of Allah ﷺ.The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Move away, Ayesha. It is not your day."She replied, "That is the bounty of Allah which He grants to whomever He wills," and she informed him of what had happened, so he became pleased with Safiya.
قال حدثنا عفان حدثنا حماد قال أخبرنا ليث وثابت عن سمية
أن رسول الله ﷺ وجد على صفية بنت حيي في شيء فقالت صفية يا عائشة أرضي عني رسول الله ﷺ ولك يومي فقالت نعم فأخذت خمارا لها مصبوغا بزعفران فرشته بالماء ليفوح ريحه فقعدت إلى جنب رسول الله ﷺ فقال رسول الله ﷺ إليك يا عائشة إنه ليس يومك قالت ذلك فضل الله يؤتيه من يشاء وأخبرته بالأمر فرضي عنها
