Ismail reported,

Abu Khalaf, the freed slave of Banu Jumah, told me that he went in with Ubayd bin Umayr to see Ayesha, Umm Muiminin, in the shaded portico of Zamzam, and there was no shade anywhere in the masjid except there.She said, "Welcome and greetings to Abu Asim," meaning Ubayd bin Umayr. "What keeps you from visiting us or calling on us?"He replied, "I am afraid of wearying you."She said, "You would never do that."He said, "I have come to ask you about a verse in the Book of Allah , how the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to recite it."She asked, "Which verse?"He said, "Is it those who give what they give or those who bring what they bring?"She asked, "Which of the two do you prefer?"He said, "I said, by the One in whose hand is my soul, one of them is dearer to me than the whole world," or he said, "than the world and everything in it."She asked, "Which one?"He said, "I said, 'Those who bring what they bring' [Muminun 23:60]."She said, "I bear witness that this is how the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to recite it, and that is how it was revealed." Or she said, "I bear witness that this is how it was revealed, and this is how the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to recite it. The difference is only a matter of a single letter in the spelling."

حدثني أبو خلف مولى بني جمح أنه دخل مع عبيد بن عمير على عائشة أم المؤمنين في سقيفة زمزم ليس في المسجد ظل غيرها فقالت مرحبا وأهلا بأبي عاصم يعني عبيد بن عمير ما يمنعك أن تزورنا أو تلم بنا فقال أخشى أن أملك فقالت ما كنت تفعل قال جئت أن أسألك عن آية في كتاب الله عز وجل كيف كان رسول الله ﷺ يقرؤها فقالت أية آية فقال الذين يؤتون ما أتوا أو الذين يأتون ما أتوا فقالت أيتهما أحب إليك قال قلت والذي نفسي بيده لإحداهما أحب إلي من الدنيا جميعا أو الدنيا وما فيها قالت أيتهما قلت {الذين يأتون ما أتوا} قالت أشهد أن رسول الله ﷺ كذلك كان يقرؤها وكذلك أنزلت أو قالت أشهد لكذلك أنزلت وكذلك كان رسول الله ﷺ يقرؤها ولكن الهجاء حرف
