Ayesha reported,

Aisha said, "I used to love to enter the House and pray inside it. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ took me by the hand and brought me into the Hijr, then said to me, 'Pray in the Hijr whenever you wish to enter the House, for it is a part of the House. Your people fell short when they rebuilt the Kaabah and left this portion outside.'"

عن عائشة أنها قالت

كنت أحب أن أدخل البيت فأصلي فيه فأخذ رسول الله ﷺ يدي فأدخلني في الحجر فقال لي صلي في الحجر إذا أردت دخول البيت فإنما هو قطعة من البيت ولكن قومك استقصروا حين بنوا الكعبة فأخرجوه من البيت
