Ayesha reported,

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ gave instructions to the people during the year of the Farewell Pilgrimage, saying, "Whoever among you wishes to begin with an Amra before the Hajj may do so." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ himself performed Hajj alone and did not perform Amra.
