I entered upon Ayesha and saw a spear placed in her house. I said, "Mother of the Believers, what do you do with this spear?"She replied, "This is for these geckos. We kill them with it, for the Messenger of Allah ﷺ told us that when Ibrahim, peace be upon him, was thrown into the fire, there was no creature on earth that did not try to extinguish the fire from him, except the gecko, which kept blowing on it. So the Messenger of Allah ﷺ commanded us to kill it."
