The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to say seven takbirs and five takbirs before the recitation in the two Eid prayers.
حدثنا أبو سعيد مولى بني هاشم حدثنا ابن لهيعة عن عقيل عن ابن شهاب عن عروة
أن رسول الله ﷺ كان يكبر في العيدين سبعا وخمسا قبل القراءة
Its isnad is hasan because of Ibn Lahia. Abu Dawud narrated the hadith in 1/299, no. 1149, in the book of Eids, and Ibn Majah in 1/407, no. 1279, in the book of establishing prayer.
