She said, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "The imam is responsible and the muezzin is entrusted. May Allah guide the imam and pardon the muezzin."
حدثنا أبو عبد الرحمن حدثنا حيوة بن شريح قال حدثني نافع بن سليمان أن محمد بن أبي صالح حدثه عن أبيه أنه سمع
تقول قال رسول الله ﷺ الإمام ضامن والمؤذن مؤتمن فأرشد الله الإمام وعفا عن المؤذن
Its isnad is hasan, because of Muhammad bin Abu Salih Samman, for they have criticized his memory. As for Nafi bin Sulayman Madani, Ibn Main deemed him trustworthy and Abu Hatim confirmed his truthfulness. This hadith is repeated very many times. See 9904, 8949, 10054, 1967, and 22139.
