When the news arrived of the deaths of Jafar bin Abu Talib, Zayd bin Haritha, and Abdullah bin Rawaha, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ sat down with grief visible on his face.Ayesha said, "I was peeking through a crack in the door when a man came to him and said, 'Messenger of Allah, the women of Jafar's household,' and he mentioned their wailing."The Messenger of Allah ﷺ ordered him to forbid them. The man went off, then returned and said, "I have forbidden them, but they did not obey me."He commanded him a second time, but the man returned with the same report. On the third occasion, she claimed that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Throw dust in their faces."Ayesha said, "I said, 'May Allah rub your nose in the dirt. By Allah, you will not do what he told you, nor will you stop troubling the Messenger of Allah ﷺ.'"
