I asked Ayesha about the prayer of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. She said, "There was no prayer he was more inclined to delay, when he was engaged in conversation, than the late evening prayer. He never performed it and then came in to me without praying four or six more units afterwards. I never saw him spread anything between himself and the ground to protect himself from it, except that I recall one rainy day when we placed a rough cloth beneath him. It is as if I can still see a tear in it through which water was seeping."

سألت عائشة عن صلاة رسول الله ﷺ قالت لم تكن صلاة أحرى أن يؤخرها إذا كان على حديث من صلاة العشاء الآخرة وما صلاها قط فدخل علي إلا صلى بعدها أربعا أو ستا وما رأيته يتقي على الأرض بشيء قط إلا أني أذكر أن يوم مطر ألقينا تحته بتا فكأني أنظر إلى خرق فيه ينبع منه الماء
