I came to Ayesha along with Ammar and Ashtar, and Ammar said, "Peace be upon you, mother."She replied, "Peace be upon whoever follows the guidance," until he repeated the greeting to her two or three times.Then he said, "By Allah, I am indeed your son, even if you dislike it."She asked, "Who is this with you?"He said, "This is Ashtar."She said, "Are you the one who wanted to kill my sister's son?"He replied, "Yes, I wanted that, and he wanted it too."She said, "Had you done so, you would not have succeeded. As for you, Ammar, I heard," or "you heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, 'The blood of a Muslim is not lawful to shed except in three cases. One who commits adultery after having been married, one who disbelieves after having accepted Islam, or one who kills a soul and is killed in retaliation.'"

انتهيت إلى عائشة أنا وعمار والأشتر فقال عمار السلام عليك يا أمتاه فقالت السلام على من اتبع الهدى حتى أعادها عليها مرتين أو ثلاثا ثم قال أما والله إنك لأمي وإن كرهت قالت من هذا معك قال هذا الأشتر قالت أنت الذي أردت أن تقتل ابن أختي قال نعم قد أردت ذلك وأراده قالت أما لو فعلت ما أفلحت أما أنت يا عمار فقد سمعت أو سمعت رسول الله ﷺ يقول لا يحل دم امرئ مسلم إلا من ثلاثة إلا من زنى بعدما أحصن أو كفر بعدما أسلم أو قتل نفسا فقتل بها
