The Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade killing the snakes that live in houses, as Muhammad bin Ubayd specified, but he commanded us to kill the short-tailed snake and the one with two stripes on its back, saying, "These two snatch away eyesight and cause women to miscarry. Whoever spares them is not from me."
حدثنا يحيى عن عبيد الله ومحمد بن عبيد حدثنا عبيد الله قال أخبرني نافع عن سائبة
نهى رسول الله ﷺ عن قتل الحيات قال محمد بن عبيد التي تكون في البيوت وأمرنا بقتل الأبتر وذي الطفيتين قال إنهما يلتمسان البصر ويسقطان ما في بطون النساء ومن تركهما فليس مني
Its isnad is sahih. Saibah is the freedwoman of Fakih bin Mughira, maqbulah, no one narrated from her except him, and her hadith is found in Ibn Majah. The hadith has already appeared at 23892.
