Whenever the Prophet ﷺ saw rain, he would say, "O Allah, make it a beneficial downpour."He said, I asked Ayesha what the Prophet ﷺ would begin with when he entered his home. She replied, "With the toothstick."
حدثنا عبدة حدثنا مسعر عن المقدام بن شريح عن أبيه
أن النبي ﷺ كان إذا رأى المطر قال اللهم صيبا نافعا قال وسألت عائشة بأي شيء كان يبدأ النبي ﷺ إذا دخل بيته قالت بالسواك
Its chain of transmission is sahih. Miqdam bin Shurayh is trustworthy, and his hadith is found in Muslim and the four Sunan. His father, Shurayh bin Hani bin Yazid, is among the trustworthy mukhadram Tabiin, and his hadith is found in Muslim.The hadith was reported by Bukhari, 2/518, no. 1032, in the chapter on rain prayer. Abu Dawud, 4/326, no. 5099, Nasai, 3/164, no. 1523, Humaydi, 1/131, no. 270, and Abd bin Humayd, 440, no. 1525, in al-Muntakhab.
