I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, "Whoever here is from Maad, let him stand."So I stood up.He said, "Sit down."He did this three times. Each time I would stand, and he would say, "Sit down."On the third time I asked, "Who do we belong to, Messenger of Allah?"He replied, "You, the people of Qudaah, are from Himyar."Amr said, "I kept this hadith concealed for twenty years."
حدثنا قتيبة بن سعيد: حدثنا ابن لهيعة عن الربيع بن سبرة: سمعت
سمعت رسول الله ﷺ يقول: من كان هاهنا من معد فليقم فقمت، فقال: اقعد فصنع ذلك ثلاث مرات، كل ذلك أقوم، فيقول: اقعد فلما كانت الثالثة قلت: ممن نحن يا رسول الله؟ قال: أنتم معشر قضاعة من حمير، قال عمرو: فكتمت هذا الحديث منذ عشرين سنة.
