I was sitting with the Messenger of Allah when he said, "Whoever here is from Maad, let him stand up."I took hold of my garment to stand, but he said, "Sit down."Then he said again, "Whoever here is from Maad, let him stand up."I took hold of my garment to stand, but he said, "Sit down."He said it a third time, so I asked, "Then whom are we from, Messenger of Allah?"He replied, "From Himyar."

كنت جالسا عند رسول الله، فقال: من كان هاهنا من معد فليقم قال: فأخذت ثوبي لأقوم، فقال: اقعد ثم قال: من كان هاهنا من معد فليقم قال: فأخذت ثوبي لأقوم، فقال: اقعد فقال الثالثة، فقلت: ممن نحن يا رسول الله؟ قال: من حمير.
