I came to the Prophet ﷺ and greeted him.He said, "Awf?"I replied, "Yes."He said, "Come in."I asked, "All of me, or only part of me?"He answered, "All of you."He said, "Awf, count six things before the Hour. The first of them is my death."I burst into tears, and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ kept trying to calm me.He said, "That is one. The second is the conquest of Jerusalem."I said, "That is two.""The third is a plague that will strike my Ummah, taking them like the disease that strikes sheep."He said, "That is three. The fourth is a tribulation that will arise within my Ummah, and it will be immense."I said, "That is four.""The fifth is that wealth will overflow among you, until a man is given a hundred dinars and is still displeased with it."I said, "That is five.""The sixth is a truce between you and the Banu al-Asfar, but they will betray it and march against you under eighty banners, with twelve thousand men under each banner."I asked, "What is a banner?"He replied, "A standard. Under every standard will be twelve thousand. The encampment of the Muslims on that day will be in a land called al-Ghutah, in a city called Damascus."
حدثنا أبو المغيرة قال حدثنا صفوان قال حدثنا عبد الرحمن بن جبير بن نفير عن أبيه
أتيت النبي ﷺ فسلمت عليه فقال عوف فقلت نعم فقال ادخل قال قلت كلي أو بعضي قال بل كلك قال يا عوف اعدد ستا بين يدي الساعة أولهن موتي قال فاستبكيت حتى جعل رسول الله ﷺ يسكتني قال قلت إحدى والثانية فتح بيت المقدس قلت اثنين والثالثة موتان يكون في أمتي يأخذهم مثل قعاص الغنم قال ثلاثا والرابعة فتنة تكون في أمتي وعظمها قل أربعا والخامسة يفيض المال فيكم حتى إن الرجل ليعطى المائة دينار فيتسخطها قل خمسا والسادسة هدنة تكون بينكم وبين بني الأصفر فيسيرون إليكم على ثمانين غاية قلت وما الغاية قال الراية تحت كل راية اثنا عشر ألفا فسطاط المسلمين يومئذ في أرض يقال لها الغوطة في مدينة يقال لها دمشق
