The Messenger of Allah ﷺ sent a man from the tribe of Makhzum to collect the charity. He said to Abu Rafi, "Come along with me so that you may receive a share of it."Abu Rafi replied, "Not until I go to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and ask him."So he went to the Prophet and asked him, and he said, "Charity is not lawful for us, and the freed slave of a people is considered one of them."
حدثنا محمد بن جعفر وبهز قالا حدثنا شعبة عن الحكم عن ابن أبي رافع
أن رسول الله ﷺ بعث رجلا من بني مخزوم على الصدقة فقال لأبي رافع اصحبني كيما تصيب منها قال لا حتى آتي رسول الله ﷺ فأسأله فانطلق إلى النبي فسأله فقال الصدقة لا تحل لنا وإن مولى القوم من أنفسهم
