When Salman was on his deathbed, he wept and said, "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ made a covenant with us, and we have abandoned what he entrusted to us. He charged us that what suffices any one of us from this world should be like the provision of a traveler."The narrator said, "Then we looked at what he left behind, and the value of all he left was about twenty-odd dirhams, or thirty-odd dirhams."
حدثنا هشيم عن منصور
لما احتضر سلمان بكى وقال إن رسول الله ﷺ عهد إلينا عهدا فتركنا ما عهد إلينا أن يكون بلغة أحدنا من الدنيا كزاد الراكب قال ثم نظرنا فيما ترك فإذا قيمة ما ترك بضعة وعشرون درهما أو بضعة وثلاثون درهما
