Qassama existed in the Age of Ignorance, according to a report from Abu Salama bin Abdul-Rahman and Sulayman bin Yasar, on the authority of Some men among the companions of the Prophet ﷺ from the Ansar, that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ confirmed it as it had been practiced in the Age of Ignorance, and he judged by it between a group of the Ansar in the case of a slain man whose killing they attributed to the Jews.
