My father was among the people of the Suffah. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ gave instructions concerning them, so the men began taking them home one or two at a time, until I remained as one of five.The Messenger of Allah ﷺ then said, "Come along," so we went with him to Ayesha's house. He said, "Ayesha, give us something to eat." She brought some herbs, and we ate. Then she brought a portion of hays the size of a sandgrouse, and we ate. Then he said, "Ayesha, give us something to drink." She brought a large bowl, and we drank. Then she brought a small cup containing milk, and we drank.The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "If you wish, you may spend the night here, or if you wish, you may go to the mosque."We said, "No, we will go to the mosque."While I was lying in the mosque on my belly, a man nudged me with his foot and said, "This is a posture that Allah hates." I looked up, and it was the Messenger of Allah ﷺ.
حدثنا إسماعيل بن إبراهيم عن هشام الدستوائي عن يحيى بن أبي كثير عن أبي سلمة
كان أبي من أصحاب الصفة فأمر رسول الله ﷺ بهم فجعل ينقلب الرجل بالرجل والرجلين حتى بقيت خامس خمسة فقال رسول الله ﷺ انطلقوا فانطلقنا معه إلى بيت عائشة فقال يا عائشة أطعمينا فجاءت بحشيشة فأكلنا ثم جاءت بحيسة مثل القطاة فأكلنا ثم قال يا عائشة اسقينا فجاءت بعس فشربنا ثم جاءت بقدح صغير فيه لبن فشربنا فقال رسول الله ﷺ إن شئتم بتم وإن شئتم انطلقتم إلى المسجد فقلنا لا بل ننطلق إلى المسجد قال فبينا أنا في المسجد مضطجعا على بطني إذا رجل يحركني برجله فقال إن هذه ضجعة يبغضها الله فنظرت فإذا هو رسول الله ﷺ
