Abu Abdullah bin Takhfa reported,

Whenever the Messenger of Allah ﷺ had many guests, he would say, "Let each man take a guest home with him." One night, many guests gathered at his place, and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Let each man go home with his companion."I was among those who went home with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. When he entered, he said, "Ayesha, is there anything to eat?"She replied, "Yes, a little porridge I had prepared for you to break your fast with."She brought it in a small bowl of hers, and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ took a small portion and ate it. Then he said, "Take some, in the name of Allah." So we ate from it until we could no longer even look at it.Then he said, "Do you have anything to drink?"She said, "Yes, a little milk I had prepared for you."He said, "Bring it." She brought it, and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ took it, raised it to his mouth, and drank a little. Then he said, "Drink, in the name of Allah." So we drank, and by Allah, we could no longer even look at it.Then we left and went to the mosque, where I lay down on my face. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ came out and began rousing the people, saying, "The prayer, the prayer." Whenever he came out, he would wake the people for prayer. He passed by me as I was lying on my face and asked, "Who is this?"I said, "I am Abdullah bin Tikhfa."He said, "This is a manner of lying that Allah dislikes."

حدثنا يزيد أخبرنا ابن أبي ذئب عن الحارث بن عبد الرحمن قال بينا أنا جالس مع أبي سلمة بن عبد الرحمن إذ طلع علينا رجل من بني غفار ابن لعبد الله بن طخفة فقال أبو سلمة ألا تخبرنا عن خبر أبيك قال حدثني

أن رسول الله ﷺ كان إذا كثر الضيف عنده قال لينقلب كل رجل بضيفه حتى إذا كان ذات ليلة اجتمع عنده ضيفان كثير وقال رسول الله ﷺ لينقلب كل رجل مع جليسه قال فكنت ممن انقلب مع رسول الله ﷺ فلما دخل قال يا عائشة هل من شيء قالت نعم حويسة كنت أعددتها لإفطارك قال فجاءت بها في قعيبة لها فتناول رسول الله ﷺ منها قليلا فأكله ثم قال خذوا بسم الله فأكلنا منها حتى ما ننظر إليها ثم قال هل عندك من شراب قالت نعم لبينة كنت أعددتها لك قال هلميها فجاءت بها فتناولها رسول الله ﷺ فرفعها إلى فيه فشرب قليلا ثم قال اشربوا بسم الله فشربنا حتى والله ما ننظر إليها ثم خرجنا فأتينا المسجد فاضطجعت على وجهي فخرج رسول الله ﷺ فجعل يوقظ الناس الصلاة الصلاة وكان إذا خرج يوقظ الناس للصلاة فمر بي وأنا على وجهي فقال من هذا فقلت أنا عبد الله بن طخفة فقال إن هذه ضجعة يكرهها الله عز وجل
