Abu Humayd reported,

I heard him, while he was among ten of the companions of the Prophet ﷺ, one of whom was Abu Qatada bin Rubai, saying, "I know best among you the prayer of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ."They said to him, "You are neither the earliest of us in companionship with him, nor the one who followed him most."He said, "Yes, I do."They said, "Then show us."He said, "When he stood for prayer, he would stand upright and raise his hands until they were level with his shoulders. When he intended to bow, he would raise his hands until they were level with his shoulders, then say, 'Allahu Akbar,' and bow. Then he would settle into the bow without lowering his head nor raising it, and he placed his hands on his knees. Then he said, 'Sami Allahu liman hamidah,' then he rose and stood upright until every bone returned to its place, settled. Then he descended into prostration, saying, 'Allahu Akbar,' keeping his upper arms away from his sides and his arms apart from his torso, with the toes of his feet spread. Then he bent his left leg and sat upon it, settling until every bone returned to its place. Then he descended into prostration again, saying, 'Allahu Akbar.' Then he bent his leg and sat upon it until every limb returned to its place. Then he stood up and did in the second rakah the same as he had done. When he rose from the two prostrations, he said, 'Allahu Akbar,' and raised his hands until they were level with his shoulders, just as he did when he began the prayer. He continued in this manner, and when it came to the rakah in which the prayer would conclude, he drew back his left leg and sat on his side in the tawarruk position, then made the salam."
