Some clarified butter, dried curd, and a lizard were presented as gifts to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. He ate the clarified butter and the dried curd, then said about the lizard, "I have never eaten this. Whoever wishes to eat it may do so."So it was eaten at his table.
حدثنا عبيدة قال حدثني واقد أبو عبد الله الخياط عن سعيد بن جبير
أهدي لرسول الله عليه الصلاة والسلام سمن وأقط وضب فأكل السمن والأقط ثم قال للضب إن هذا الشيء ما أكلته قط فمن شاء أن يأكله فليأكله قال فأكل على خوانه

Its isnad is sahih. Waqid Abu Abdullah al-Khayyat, the freedman of Zayd bin Khulaydah, is trustworthy. Ibn Hibban mentioned him in Al-Thiqat, and Bukhari gave his biography in Al-Kabir 4/2/173-174, where he said, Yahya Qattan said, "Thawri praised him."See 1978, 1979, 2299. "This is a thing" (إن هذا شيء), in the printed edition it reads "this is indeed a thing" (إن هذا لشيء).
