A man reported,

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ stood among us upon a red, crop-eared she-camel and said, "Do you know what day this is of yours?"We said, "The day of sacrifice."He said, "You have spoken truly. It is the day of the greatest pilgrimage. Do you know what month this is of yours?"We said, "Dhul-Hijjah."He said, "You have spoken truly. It is Allah's sacred month. Do you know what land this is of yours?"We said, "The Sacred Precinct."He said, "You have spoken truly." Then he said, "Your blood and your property are inviolable for you, as sacred as this day of yours, in this month of yours, in this land of yours," or he said, "as sacred as this day of yours, this month of yours, and this land of yours.Indeed, I will go ahead of you to the Pool, awaiting you, and I will boast of your numbers before the other nations, so do not blacken my face. You have seen me, you have heard from me, and you will be questioned about me. So whoever lies about me, let him take his seat in the Fire.Indeed, I will rescue Some men, or some women, but others will be snatched away from me. I will say, 'My Lord, my companions!' and it will be said, 'You do not know what they introduced after you.'"

حدثنا يحيى بن سعيد حدثنا شعبة حدثني عمرو بن مرة قال سمعت

مرة قال حدثني رجل من أصحاب النبي ﷺ قال

قام فينا رسول الله ﷺ على ناقة حمراء مخضرمة فقال أتدرون أي يومكم هذا قال قلنا يوم النحر قال صدقتم يوم الحج الأكبر أتدرون أي شهر شهركم هذا قلنا ذو الحجة قال صدقتم شهر الله الأصم أتدرون أي بلد بلدكم هذا قال قلنا المشعر الحرام قال صدقتم قال فإن دماءكم وأموالكم عليكم حرام كحرمة يومكم هذا في شهركم هذا في بلدكم هذا أو قال كحرمة يومكم هذا وشهركم هذا وبلدكم هذا ألا وإني فرطكم على الحوض أنظركم وإني مكاثر بكم الأمم فلا تسودوا وجهي ألا وقد رأيتموني وسمعتم مني وستسألون عني فمن كذب علي فليتبوأ مقعده من النار ألا وإني مستنقذ رجالا أو إناثا ومستنقذ مني آخرون فأقول يا رب أصحابي فيقال إنك لا تدري ما أحدثوا بعدك
