I was at the funeral of Hudhayfah when a man among the people said, "I heard this one," meaning Hudhayfah, "say, 'I have no fear because of what I heard from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. If you ever fight one another, I will look for the farthest room in my house and enter it, and if anyone comes in upon me, I will say, Here, take on my sin and yours,' or, 'my offense and yours.'"

كنت في جنازة حذيفة فقال رجل من القوم سمعت هذا يقول يعني حذيفة يقول ما بي بأس مما سمعت من رسول الله ﷺ ولئن اقتتلتم لأنظرن أقصى بيت في داري فلأدخلنه فلئن دخل علي لأقولن ها بؤ بإثمي وإثمك أو ذنبي وذنبك
