Abu Imran reported,

I said to Jundab, "I have pledged allegiance to Ibn Zubayr to fight the people of Sham."He said, "Perhaps you want to say, 'Jundab gave me a fatwa,' or, 'Jundab issued me a ruling.'"I said, "I only want it for myself."He said, "Ransom yourself with your wealth."I said, "It will not be accepted from me."He said, "During the time of the Prophet ﷺ I was a strong young lad, and so-and-so informed me that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'The slain person will come on the Day of Resurrection clinging to his killer and will say, "My Lord, ask him why he killed me." He will reply, "Over the kingdom of so-and-so." So fear Allah, lest you be that man.'"

حدثنا بهز حدثنا حماد بن سلمة قال أخبرنا

أبو عمران قال

قلت لجندب إني بايعت ابن الزبير على أن أقاتل أهل الشام قال فلعلك تريد أن تقول أفتاني جندب أو أفتاني جندب قال قلت ما أريد ذاك إلا لنفسي قال افتد بمالك قلت إنه لا يقبل مني قال إني قد كنت على عهد النبي ﷺ غلاما حزورا وإن فلانا أخبرني أن رسول الله ﷺ قال يجيء المقتول يوم القيامة متعلقا بالقاتل فيقول يا رب سله فيم قتلني فيقول في ملك فلان فاتق الله لا تكون ذلك الرجل
