A man asked the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, "Messenger of Allah, tell me of a deed that will admit me into Paradise."The Prophet ﷺ asked, "Is either of your parents still living?" He repeated this question to him several times.The man answered, "No."The Prophet ﷺ said, "Then provide water for people to drink."The man asked, "How am I to provide it?"He replied, "Spare them the trouble of drawing it when they come to the water, and carry it to them when they are far from it."
حدثنا محمد بن جعفر حدثنا شعبة عن عاصم بن كليب عن عياض بن مرثد أو مرثد بن عياض
أنه سأل رسول الله ﷺ فقال يا رسول الله أخبرني بعمل يدخلني الجنة قال هل من والديك من أحد حي قال له مرات قال لا قال فاسق الماء قال كيف أسقيه قال اكفهم آلته إذا حضروه واحمله إليهم إذا غابوا عنه
