The Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade selling fresh fruit for dried dates, but granted a concession in the case of araya. The araya refers to one or two palm trees that a man buys by estimating their yield against an equivalent amount of dried dates, taking responsibility for them. He permitted this.

Its isnad is sahih, but there is a point that needs noting, as pointed out in Taajil. A misreading occurred among the early narrators, and the correct isnad is Yahya from Bashir bin Yasar. Bashir bin Yasar is trustworthy, and his hadith is found in the collections of the group. The hadith was mentioned earlier at 21476.
