Burayda reported,

A woman came to the Prophet ﷺ and said, "Messenger of Allah, I gave my mother a Jariya as charity, and now my mother has died and the Jariya remains."He replied, "Your reward has been confirmed, and she has returned to you through inheritance."She asked, "My mother had a month of fasting due from her. Shall I fast on her behalf?"He said, "Yes."She asked, "My mother never performed the pilgrimage. Shall I perform it on her behalf?"He said, "Perform the pilgrimage on behalf of your mother."

عن ابن بريدة عن أبيه قال

جاءت امرأة إلى النبي ﷺ فقالت يا رسول الله إني تصدقت على أمي بجارية فماتت أمي وبقيت الجارية فقال قد وجب أجرك ورجعت إليك في الميراث قالت فإنه كان على أمي صوم شهر أفأصوم عنها قال نعم قالت فإن أمي لم تحج أفأحج عنها قال حجي عن أمك
