The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to make the four units of prayer equal in recitation and standing, but he would make the first unit the longest so that people could gather. He would place the men in the front, the boys behind them, and the women behind the boys. He would say "Allahu Akbar" each time he prostrated and each time he rose, and he would say "Allahu Akbar" whenever he stood up between two units after sitting.

عن رسول الله ﷺ أنه كان يسوي بين الأربع ركعات في القراءة والقيام ويجعل الركعة الأولى هي أطولهن لكي يثوب الناس ويجعل الرجال قدام الغلمان والغلمان خلفهم والنساء خلف الغلمان ويكبر كلما سجد وكلما رفع ويكبر كلما نهض بين الركعتين إذا كان جالسا
