The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Purification is half of faith, and 'Praise be to Allah' fills the scales. 'Glory be to Allah,' 'Praise be to Allah,' and 'Allah is greatest' fill what lies between the heavens and the earth. Prayer is light, charity is proof, patience is radiance, and the Quran is an argument either for you or against you. Every person sets out in the morning and sells his own soul, either freeing it or destroying it."In another version it reads, "Prayer is proof and charity is light."
حدثنا سريج بن النعمان حدثنا أبو إسحاق يحيى بن ميمون يعني العطار حدثني يحيى بن أبي كثير حدثني زيد بن سلام عن أبي سلام حدثه عبد الرحمن الأشعري قال قال رسول الله ﷺ الطهور شطر الإيمان فذكر مثله إلا أنه قال الصلاة برهان والصدقة نور
