I asked Ubada bin Samit about the spoils of war, and he said, "It was revealed concerning us, the company of the people of Badr, when we disputed over the spoils and our conduct regarding them turned ugly. So Allah took it out of our hands and entrusted it to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, who then distributed it among the Muslims equally." By "bawaa" he meant on equal terms.

سألت عبادة بن الصامت عن الأنفال فقال فينا معشر أصحاب بدر نزلت حين اختلفنا في النفل وساءت فيه أخلاقنا فانتزعه الله من أيدينا وجعله إلى رسول الله ﷺ فقسمه رسول الله ﷺ بين المسلمين عن بواء يقول على السواء
