The Messenger of Allah ﷺ led us in prayer and recited, but the recitation became difficult for him. When he finished, he asked, "Do you recite behind me?"We replied, "Yes, Messenger of Allah."He said, "Do not do so, except for the Opening of the Book, for there is no prayer without it."
حدثنا محمد بن سلمة عن ابن إسحاق يعني محمدا عن مكحول عن محمود بن الربيع
صلى بنا رسول الله ﷺ فقرأ فثقلت عليه القراءة فلما فرغ قال تقرءون قلنا نعم يا رسول الله فلا عليكم أن لا تفعلوا إلا بفاتحة الكتاب فإنه لا صلاة إلا بها
