The Messenger of Allah ﷺ led us in the dawn prayer, and the recitation became difficult for him. When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ finished his prayer, he turned his face toward us and said, "I see you reciting behind your imam when he recites aloud."We replied, "Yes indeed, by Allah, Messenger of Allah, we do."The Messenger of Allah ﷺ then said, "Do not do so, except for the Mother of the Quran, for there is no prayer for one who does not recite it."
حدثنا يعقوب حدثنا أبي عن ابن إسحاق حدثني مكحول عن محمود بن ربيع الأنصاري
صلى بنا رسول الله ﷺ الصبح فثقلت عليه فيها القراءة فلما انصرف رسول الله ﷺ من صلاته أقبل علينا بوجهه فقال إني لأراكم تقرءون خلف إمامكم إذا جهر قال قلنا أجل والله إذا يا رسول الله إنه لهذا فقال رسول الله ﷺ لا تفعلوا إلا بأم القرآن فإنه لا صلاة لمن لم يقرأ بها
