We set out for the pilgrimage, and when we reached al-Arj, we suddenly came upon a snake writhing on the ground. It soon died. A man among us took out a piece of cloth from his bag, wrapped the snake in it, dug a hole in the ground, and buried it.When we arrived in Mecca and were sitting in the Sacred Mosque, a person stopped before us and asked, "Which of you is the companion of Amr bin Jabir?"We replied, "We do not know him."He said, "Which of you is the companion of the jinn?"They said, "This man."He said, "May Allah reward you well. He was the last of the nine to die who came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ to listen to the Quran."

خرجنا حجاجا فلما كنا بالعرج إذا نحن بحية تضطرب فلم تلبث أن ماتت فأخرج لها رجل خرقة من عيبته فلفها فيها ودفنها وخذ لها في الأرض فلما أتينا مكة فإنا لبالمسجد الحرام إذ وقف علينا شخص فقال أيكم صاحب عمرو بن جابر قلنا ما نعرفه قال أيكم صاحب الجان قالوا هذا قال أما إنه جزاك الله خيرا أما إنه قد كان من آخر التسعة موتا الذين أتوا رسول الله ﷺ يستمعون القرآن

Its chain of transmission is daif for two reasons, Umar bin Nabhan was deemed weak by the scholars, and there is a break in the chain between Sallam and Safwan. This hadith is also among the additions, as noted in the sources mentioned for the previous hadith.
