He asked the Prophet ﷺ, saying, "Prophet of Allah, I am asking you about something you know and I do not, regarding the day and the night. Is there an hour in which prayer is disliked?"The Messenger of Allah ﷺ replied, "When you have prayed the morning prayer, refrain from praying until the sun rises. Once it has risen, then pray, for the prayer is witnessed and accepted, until the sun reaches directly above your head like a spear. When it stands directly above your head, that is the hour in which Hell is stoked and its gates are opened, until it moves past your right brow. Once it has moved past your right brow, then pray, for the prayer is witnessed and accepted, until you pray the afternoon prayer."

أنه سأل النبي ﷺ فقال يا نبي الله إني أسألك عما أنت به عالم وأنا به جاهل من الليل والنهار ساعة تكره فيها الصلاة فقال رسول الله ﷺ إذا صليت الصبح فأمسك عن الصلاة حتى تطلع الشمس فإذا طلعت فصل فإن الصلاة محضورة متقبلة حتى تعتدل على رأسك مثل الرمح فإذا اعتدلت على رأسك فإن تلك الساعة تسجر فيها جهنم وتفتح فيها أبوابها حتى تزول عن حاجبك الأيمن فإذا زالت عن حاجبك الأيمن فصل فإن الصلاة محضورة متقبلة حتى تصلي العصر
Its isnad is sahih, but there is considerable question about it. Some have said that Maqburi did not hear from Safwan, and this is according to the view of those who said he died in the year 18 AH. The hadith is sahih and was previously mentioned in full at 19326. In Majma [10/2] it says, this is among the additional narrations (zawaid), and likewise in Tajil, in the entry on Safwan, and in Isabah, and in Atraf Musnad number 2989.
