Abu Qatada reported,

They were on a journey, and Abu Qatadah said, "I saw a wild donkey, so I mounted a horse, took up the spear, and killed it. Some of us were in the state of ihram." They ate from it, but then became uneasy about it.Abu Qatadah said, "I asked the Messenger of Allah ﷺ," or he said, "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ was asked."He asked, "Did you point it out, or assist, or hunt it down?"Shuba said, "I do not know whether he said 'assist' or 'hunt it down.'"They replied, "No."So he instructed them to eat it.

عن أبيه أبي قتادة

أنهم كانوا في مسير لهم فرأيت حمار وحش فركبت فرسا وأخذت الرمح فقتلته قال وفينا المحرم قال فأكلوا منه قال فأشفقوا قال فسألت رسول الله ﷺ أو قال فسئل رسول الله ﷺ قال أشرتم أو أعنتم أو أصدتم قال شعبة لا أدري قال أعنتم أو أصدتم ثم قالوا لا فأمرهم بأكله
