We were invited to a banquet and he was with us. When he had eaten his fill, he stood up and said, "I am not standing here to deliver a sermon. Whenever the Prophet ﷺ had eaten his fill, he would say, 'Praise be to Allah, abundant, good, and blessed praise. He is the One whose bounty cannot be repaid, nor can He be done without.'"
حدثنا أبو المغيرة حدثنا السري بن ينعم حدثني عامر بن جشيب عن خالد بن معدان
دعينا إلى وليمة وهو معنا فلما شبع من الطعام قام فقال أما إني لست أقوم مقامي هذا خطيبا كان النبي ﷺ إذا شبع من الطعام قال الحمد لله كثيرا طيبا مباركا فيه غير مكفي ولا مستغنى عنه
