Habib bin Ubayd reported,

Abu Umama once entered upon Khalid bin Yazid, who placed a cushion out for him. Abu Umama thought it was made of silk, so he stepped backward until he reached the end of the seating area, while Khalid was speaking with another man. Khalid then turned to Abu Umama and said, "My brother, what did you think? Did you suppose it was silk?"Abu Umama replied, "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'Whoever hopes for the days of Allah does not enjoy silk.'"Khalid said to him, "Abu Umama, did you yourself hear this from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ?"He answered, "May Allah grant forgiveness. Did you yourself hear this from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ? Rather, we were among a people who did not lie to us, nor did we lie to them."

عن حبيب بن عبيد الرحبي

أن أبا أمامة دخل على خالد بن يزيد فألقى له وسادة فظن أبو أمامة أنها حرير فتنحى يمشي القهقرى حتى بلغ آخر السماط وخالد يكلم رجلا ثم التفت إلى أبي أمامة فقال له يا أخي ما ظننت أظننت أنها حرير قال أبو أمامة قال رسول الله ﷺ لا يستمتع بالحرير من يرجو أيام الله فقال له خالد يا أبا أمامة أنت سمعت هذا من رسول الله ﷺ فقال اللهم غفرا أنت سمعت هذا من رسول الله ﷺ بل كنا في قوم ما كذبونا ولا كذبنا
