The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Love originates in the heavens. When Allah loves a servant, He says, 'I love so-and-so, so love him.' Then love for him descends among the people of the earth."
حدثنا يحيى بن إسحاق السيلحيني حدثنا شريك عن محمد بن سعد الأنصاري عن أبي ظبية الشامي
قال رسول الله ﷺ المقة في السماء فإذا أحب الله عبدا قال إني أحببت فلانا فأحبوه قال فتنزل له المقة في أهل الأرض
Its isnad is hasan, because of Sharik. Yahya bin Ismail Saylahini is trusted, and his hadith appears in Sahih Muslim. Muhammad bin Saad Ansari Shami is also trusted, and his hadith appears in the Sunan. Abu Zabya Kalai Himsi is among the trustworthy Followers, and his hadith also appears in the Sunan.The hadith was narrated by Tabarani in al-Kabir, 8/141, no. 1755. See also Fath al-Bari, 10/461.
