I was beneath the mount of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ on the day of the Conquest, and he spoke beautiful and noble words. Among what he said was, "Whoever from the People of the two Books embraces Islam will have his reward twice over, and he has what we have and is bound by what binds us. And whoever from the polytheists embraces Islam will have his reward, and he has what we have and is bound by what binds us."

إني لتحت راحلة رسول الله ﷺ يوم الفتح فقال قولا حسنا جميلا وكان فيما قال من أسلم من أهل الكتابين فله أجره مرتين وله ما لنا وعليه ما علينا ومن أسلم من المشركين فله أجره وله ما لنا وعليه ما علينا
