Abdul-Rahman bin Waaila reported,

I asked Ibn Abbas, saying, "We are in a land where we have vineyards, and most of their yield is wine."He replied, "A man from Daws came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ with a large skin of wine as a gift for him. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to him, 'Did you not know that Allah has forbidden it after you set out?'The owner of the skin then turned to a person who was with him and gave him an instruction.The Prophet ﷺ asked, 'What did you instruct him to do?'He said, 'To sell it.'The Prophet ﷺ said, 'The One who forbade drinking it has also forbidden selling it and consuming its price.'So he ordered the skin, and it was poured out."

حدثنا يونس حدثنا فليح عن زيد بن أسلم

عن عبد الرحمن بن وعلة قال

سألت ابن عباس فقلت إنا بأرض لنا بها الكروم وإن أكثر غلاتها الخمر فقال قدم رجل من دوس على رسول الله ﷺ براوية خمر أهداها له فقال له رسول الله ﷺ هل علمت أن الله حرمها بعدك فأقبل صاحب الراوية على إنسان معه فأمره فقال النبي ﷺ بماذا أمرته قال ببيعها قال هل علمت أن الذي حرم شربها حرم بيعها وأكل ثمنها قال فأمر بالمزادة فأهريقت
