The Messenger of Allah ﷺ was brought Umaymah bint Zaynab while her soul was rattling as though it were in a waterskin. He said, "To Allah belongs what He takes and to Allah belongs what He gives, and everything has an appointed term."His eyes welled with tears.Saad bin Ubada said to him, "Messenger of Allah, are you weeping? Did you not forbid weeping?"The Messenger of Allah ﷺ replied, "This is only a mercy that Allah has placed in the hearts of His servants. Allah shows mercy only to those of His servants who are merciful."
حدثنا أبو معاوية حدثنا عاصم حدثني أبو عثمان النهدي
أتي رسول الله ﷺ بأميمة بنت زينب ونفسها تقعقع كأنها في شن فقال لله ما أخذ ولله ما أعطى وكل إلى أجل مسمى قال فدمعت عيناه فقال له سعد بن عبادة يا رسول الله أتبكي أولم تنه عن البكاء فقال رسول الله ﷺ إنما هي رحمة جعلها الله في قلوب عباده وإنما يرحم الله من عباده الرحماء
