I heard Abu Saeed say, "Gold for gold, weight for weight."So I met Ibn Abbas and said, "Tell me about what you say. Is it something you found in the Book of Allah or something you heard from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ?"He replied, "It is not something I found in the Book of Allah, nor did I hear it from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. Rather, Usama bin Zayd informed me that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'Riba is only in deferred transactions.'"

سمعت أبا سعيد يقول الذهب بالذهب وزنا بوزن قال فلقيت ابن عباس فقلت أرأيت ما تقول أشيئا وجدته في كتاب الله أو سمعته من رسول الله ﷺ قال ليس بشيء وجدته في كتاب الله أو سمعته من رسول الله ﷺ ولكن أخبرني أسامة بن زيد أن رسول الله ﷺ قال الربا في النسيئة
