Abu Dharr reported,

I was with the Prophet ﷺ on a donkey, and on it was a saddle pad or a thick cloth. This was at sunset.He said to me, "Abu Dharr, do you know where this sun sets?"I replied, "Allah and His Messenger know best."He said, "It sets in a spring of warm muddy water. It travels along until it falls down in prostration before its Lord beneath the Throne. When the time comes for it to rise again, Allah grants it permission, so it rises and ascends. But when He wills to make it rise from where it sets, He holds it back, and it says, 'My Lord, my journey is long.' He says to it, 'Rise from where you set.' That will be the moment when no soul's faith will benefit it."

عن أبي ذر قال

كنت مع النبي ﷺ على حمار وعليه برذعة أو قطيفة قال فذاك عند غروب الشمس فقال لي يا أبا ذر هل تدري أين تغيب هذه قال قلت الله ورسوله أعلم قال فإنها تغرب في عين حامئة تنطلق حتى تخر لربها عز وجل ساجدة تحت العرش فإذا حان خروجها أذن الله لها فتخرج فتطلع فإذا أراد أن يطلعها من حيث تغرب حبسها فتقول يا رب إن مسيري بعيد فيقول لها اطلعي من حيث غبت فذلك حين لا ينفع نفسا إيمانها
