Abu Dharr reported,

I heard the Prophet ﷺ say, "Whoever draws near to Allah by a hand-span, Allah draws near to him by a forearm's length. Whoever draws near to Allah by a forearm's length, Allah draws near to him by an arm's span. Whoever comes to Allah walking, Allah comes to him hastening. Allah is the Most High, the Most Majestic. Allah is the Most High, the Most Majestic."

حدثنا قتيبة بن سعيد حدثنا ابن لهيعة عن يزيد بن عمرو عن يزيد بن نعيم قال

سمعت أبا ذر الغفاري وهو على المنبر بالفسطاط يقول

سمعت النبي ﷺ يقول من تقرب إلى الله عز وجل شبرا تقرب إليه ذراعا ومن تقرب إلى الله ذراعا تقرب إليه باعا ومن أقبل على الله عز وجل ماشيا أقبل الله إليه مهرولا والله أعلى وأجل والله أعلى وأجل
